Nemesis Coffee

Located in the new SFU Charles Chang Innovation Centre, Nemesis Coffee, spanning just 1,400 SF, is a hub of activity in the heart of the Gastown neighbourhood in Vancouver. The coffee shop is a reflection of this unique microcosm within the larger city context, with its use of simple and authentic materials.

White oak, steel, glass and concrete punctuate the space. The herringbone wood bar is at the heart of the café. Playful geometric floor tiles in the washrooms complement the existing concrete floor. Linear light fixtures provide a sense of movement and direction throughout the café and the wood slat and panel ceiling connects the L-shaped space.

The coffee shop was nominated by Sprudge in the category of 2017 Best New Café, one of Sprudge’s most coveted awards. Other nominees include cafes in the US, South Korea, Ireland and New Zealand. Completed 2017.
